Rising obesity rates, poor nutrition and lack of prenatal care –
especially for economically challenged and culturally specific
groups – pose severe health risks. Left unchallenged, these trends
will create personal and economic burdens for many people in our
community.
Families and individuals with poor health may experience increased
stress and social isolation. Metropolitan Family Service recognizes
that positive interventions and preventative education are needed to
reverse these trends. MFS offers education and resources to promote
and instill a healthy lifestyle. We provide
health education to improve quality of life and to reduce health
costs.
Metropolitan Family Service offers multiple programs and services that provide health
education, and culturally specific classes and coaching for
non-English speaking residents coping with nutrition and health issues.
